3M at SEMA 2022

Of course, we had to make our way over to the 3M booth this year. There are a few ways to get to the new West Hall. You can walk or make your way underground, hop in a Tesla, and ride the loop! We used that option a few times.

Once at the West Hall, we walked over to the 3M booth to meet with our partners and see what was new. Our teams had great meetings discussing opportunities and our relationship with 3M. We are excited to share their latest announcements and give you a tour of the booth.

What’s new from 3M? The latest and greatest in paint protection film. Introducing the Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film Pro Series 200! It’s the newest paint protection film designed to protect vehicle paint from rock chips, scratches, and the elements. More details below:

The 3M booth always has something exciting going on and this year was no different. We watched as hundreds of people competed in the PPF Skills contest to see who can complete the installation the cleanest and fastest. We saw a handful of 1:30s but what was the fastest time? For those that don’t know how to install paint protection film, 3M had a designated vehicle for people to come up and learn a new skill. This a great opportunity to learn how paint protection film is stretched and heated to perform a clean installation. It’s one way to dip your toes into the world of PPF installation.

Aside from PPF, 3M had demonstrations for their window tint and how effective it is with blocking heat. They had a demonstration area where people can come up and install window tint. Like the PPF demo. A great way to see the installers in action and learn a thing or two.

Moving along, we make our way over to the vinyl area. 3M had a team showcasing how knifeless tape works and how it can make the job easier and more efficient. They had a Ford Bronco on display for installation purposes. Lots of hands-on action for vinyl products. No better way to learn than to try it yourself.

This year the 3M booth was buzzing with action. From paint protection film installations to vinyl demonstrations. There wasn’t a corner of the booth that wasn’t moving. 3M gave everyone an opportunity to try out something new and to get a better understanding of what their automotive films are about.
